Special Lecture on Applied Informatics (common subjects)
These subjects cover knowledge and methods associated with application of information and communication technologies to the society particularly in the areas of software/hardware, network, database, information security, data mining, information system design, and others that are more advanced and are not offered in the Master's program, and are designed for students with multiple background who have strong will to pursue academic excellence; by whom, it may be used for special study which is required for doctoral thesis.

These special seminars cover subjects mainly concerning construction and/or operation of information system specially designed for each course with various perspectives, and focus on nurturing ability to solve issues through application and construction of concrete and practical methods. Students will particularly focus on how to collect and analyze necessary data, and how to construct or operate information systems, and through exercises and case studies using various simulations, learn to identify or compose practical methods for solution.

This special seminar is designed for a full-scale study for developing doctoral thesis, for which students, by going over various papers, and conducting various investigations, experiments, analysis, and field work, are instructed to identify practical methods for or engage in research and development on construction and operation of information systems, and present and finalize academic paper based on the outcome.
