・A graduate of junior college or a special school, who has a certain period of occupational experience, and is recognized by our graduate school as having academic ability equivalent or superior to that of a university graduate (e.g. a person who has graduated from a nursing school, and has worked as a nurse for a certain period of time) may be considered eligible to apply.
・A student who has difficulty completing the program within the standard study period (2 years for Doctoral and 3 years for Master's) due to having work or other relevant reason may apply for the Extended Enrollment System.
・Adult students who are working full-time and thereby have difficulty attending classes during day time may apply for the Day and Evening Courses Systemto take some classes in the evening. |

Admission procedures
Admission procedures include short essay, an achievement test (English), interview, and application review.
A person whose TOEFL score is 213 or higher with the computer version, 550 or higher with the paper version, or 79 or higher with the internet version, or whose TOEIC score is 730 or higher, is exempt from the achievement test (English). For a foreign student whose native tongue is not Japanese, the score of Japanese Language Proficiency Test (Certificate of Proficiency for Level N1) will be additionally considered. |

Short essay: You will select one question from among those given by the school, and answer it in a short essay. Each question is on commentary concerning natural and/or social science, and you will be required to present your opinion and perspective. |

Students with any of the following credentials (1) to (9) may apply for admission: |

University Graduate (including those who are expected to graduate by March 31, 2012) |
| (2) |
A person who has received a bachelor's degree from a degree-granting institution, in accordance with the School Education Law (Article 104, Section 4) (including those who are expected to receive a degree by March 31, 2012) |
| (3) |
A person who has completed 16 years of formal schooling in a foreign country (including those who are expected to complete it by March 31, 2012) |
| (4) |
A person who has completed 16 years of formal schooling in a foreign country, by earning the credits of correspondence course in the schooling program in Japan (including those who are expected to complete it by March 31, 2012) |
| (5) |
A person who has completed 16 years of formal schooling in a foreign country, by earning the credits of correspondence course in the schooling program in Japan (including those who are expected to complete it by March 31, 2012) |
| (6) |
A person who has completed the specialized curriculum of a higher vocational school, of 4 years or more, and has been specially selected by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (including those who are expected to complete it by March 31, 2012) |

A person who has been specially selected by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (Notification No. 5 of the Ministry of Education, 1953) (including those who are expected to be designated as such by March 31, 2012) |
| (8) |
A person who has entered a graduate school, in accordance with the School Education Law (Article 102, Section 2) and recognized by our graduate school as having a suitable academic ability to engage in graduate level studies |

A person 22 years or older as of March 31, 2012, and recognized by our graduate school as having academic ability equivalent or superior to that of a university graduate |

Students with any of the above credentials (1) to (9), and have been, or are expected to have been at the time of admission, working full-time in private firm, government office, or medical institution for over 3 years |

| Special admission (Advanced placement) |
Students who have completed 3 years of undergraduate program, and earned a specific number of credits with superior grades, or recognized by our graduate school as expecting to earn a specific number of credits with superior grades
Students who have "earned a specific number of credits with superior grades, or recognized by our graduate school as expecting to earn a specific number of credits with superior grades" are for instance those, at the third year of undergraduate program. |

who have earned all credits required for graduation except for graduation thesis, and |
| (2) |
whose grades are ‘A’s in approximately 70% of classes completed. |

A person who is expecting to graduate from university in March 2012, a person who has already graduated from university, or a person applicable to each clause of Article 155, Section 1 of the Enforcement Ordianance of the School Education Law, is not applicable to this special admission. |

A person who has taken courses from a foreign university in Japan thereby completing the required number of years of schooling, of which is recognized by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and hold a master’s or a professional degree (including those who are expected to receive a degree by March 31, 2012) |
